Injectable cabotegravir for PrEP (CAB PrEP) is highly effective and only requires one injection every two months. Some people may find this easier to use than other forms of pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP), such as pills.
CAB PrEP is not yet available in most countries. However, it is important to start learning about the method now. This factsheet provides basic information to raise awareness of CAB PrEP among transgender and gender-nonbinary advocates and community members. It also describes actions transgender and gender-nonbinary people can take to advocate for the approval and availability of CAB PrEP in their country.
